Plants are beautiful additions to a home. The best houseplants are the ones you can keep alive in your home. Every home is different because of the amount of sunlight each room gets in the house. Each plant is different too. You need to research, or ask a vet, if your houseplant is toxic to your pets, preferably before you buy the plant.

I have two cats. My favorite houseplant is the Christmas Cactus plant. My cats don’t mess with it much. This plant is beautiful! It blooms pretty pink flowers once or twice a year. It doesn’t need much water. Just a little water every week or two. Less water is better for these.

The spider plant is a big favorite among a lot of green thumbs. They also are wonderful for detoxifying your home. Cats, however, love to chew them! So I got smart, and bought hanging fixtures for the spider plants, link here https://amzn.to/4i9YyHo. Now, my cats can’t touch them, and they are doing great! The hanging rope planters are very pretty in a home as well. You can find those here https://amzn.to/41HbgaH.
Pro Tip: Buy the hanging rope planters that DON’T have the fringe on the bottom because that only attracts the cats more. The one I linked above is very nice because it is shorter, and you can let more leaves grow.

Philodendron plants are super pretty, and have those long stems with lots of leaves. These are toxic to everyone including dogs, cats, and humans if ingested. I use a hanging planter for these, and cut them when they get too long. I make new plants from the cuttings. These are just too pretty not to have. Hang them up high like the ones I’ve shown. When they get too long (when the cats can get to them) trim off at the new length you want, and save the new cuttings to grow a new plant! The new cutting will grow it’s own roots like the one I’ve shown below. These ones like sunlight! I put this one in our bedroom where the cats can’t get to it.

These houseplants are great for purifying the air too! As much as they are pretty, they have a job to do. To get beautiful houseplants, you can use plant food sticks every so often, but not to newly potted plants. Always research how to care for the particular plant you have.
Make sure to find a planter that is ceramic, with a bottom for excess water. Also, make sure it matches your home decor. The planter should compliment the plant. I hope this has inspired you to make houseplants a part of your home decor!
Blessings to you!
